Rao Kishan Singh/ Rao Krishan Gopal was third son of Rao Jiwan singh from Nangal Pathani -Haryana . He descended from the branch of the same stock as that of Rao Raja Tula Ram singh Bahadur . From his very boyhood he was prominently soldier, possessing great physical power and courage. He loved games and outdoor life. At the age of 20 he came to Rao Tula Ram and join his army but after some time later he got the service of Kotwal in the Kotwali of Meerut with the help of Mr. Lawrance who was already acquainted to Rao Tula Ram .
On 10 May 1857 great war of Independence starts from Meeruth . At the time of great rebellion, Rao Kishan Singh helped the rebels by giving the arms from the Kotwali. On the middle of May he was detailed by the Deputy Commissioner to guide a party of carabneers under the city magistrate Mr. Turnbull to punish villagers of Gagual, Sirsari and Murunapur south of Meerut, because their inhabitants had been blocking the Agra Road. Rao Kishan Singh intentionally misguided them in the darkness of night. He sent the message to the concerned villages. At next day when they reached at above villages at noon. By that time the villages were deserted. Due to this episode the British officer suspected the loyalty of Rao Kishan Singh and reported the matter to the higher authorities. On 3 June 1857  Rao Kishan Singh at once left Meerut and send the message with his brother Rao Ram Lal to rebel leader Rao Tula Ram at Rewari , Before leaving Meerut Rao Kishan singh posted posters on the main gate of the city that "‘Britishers are great frauds. The person who trusts them, will repent like me and will have to face great troubles. ’

  In Delhi Rao Kishan Singh met the Emperor Bahadur Shah with Shahvaj Khan, a cousin brother of Nawab of Jhajjar and asked for next step after that Rao Kishan Singh came to Rewari and joined the forces of Rao Tula Ram as a Captain in cavalry. He helped Rao Tula Ram in restoring peace in Rewari area. When the Showers’ Column marched towards Rewari, Rao Kishan Singh advised Rao Tula Ram to fight with the Showers’ column but Rao Tula Ram refused to do so and left the Rewari along with his army chief and reached at shekhawati . After the invasion of Showers column the force of Rao Tula Ram reoccupied Rewari . Rao Kishan Singh came back Rewari with his brother Ram Lai and took the command of Rao Tula Ram’s force. When the British Government came to know about the developments of rebellions at Rewari and in Shekhawati they sent Col. Gerrard against these developments. When Rao
Tula Ram came to know about the invasion of Col. Gerrard he at once left Rewari along with his army chiefs and reached Narnaul . At narnaul, a combined rebel force under the leadership of Rao Tula Ram comprising of Jodhpur legion, the force of Jhajjar under Abdul Samad Khan and some force under Mohammed Azim, assistant patrol of Bhattu was there. Gerrard reached at Naseebpur near Narnual pursuing them. On November 16, 1857 of fierce battle was fought between Gerrard’s column and Indian forces . Rao Kishan singh laid his life in battle field, fighting heroically against the British forces at Nsibpur Narnaul. In this way Ram Kishan Singh died a hero’s death.
